I don't go to the movie much as at all anymore except when it's a film that just can't be as good at home.  These include movies like Avatar (IMAX 3D!!!) and The Dark Knight.  Also, movie theaters are full of stuff I know longer want to put in my body.  I might buy a huge diet soda now and then, but that's because their waters are ridiculously small and expensive.  

 

However, last time, the entire family was groaning about going to the movies.  I told them they could have any junk they wanted, but they all said they wanted none of the junk.  So, I became a movie food pirate.  I made us all some snacks to hid in our pockets!  VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!!

 

1.  Pepperoni Chips:  I sliced my homemade pepperoni thinly and microwaved sheets of them on paper towels.  They come out crispy like potato chips with WAY MORE FLAVOR!  Takes about 30-45 seconds per sheet.  I ran 10 sheets.  Should have run more.  Came to about 200 chips.

 

2.  Walnut, Almond, Macadamia Nut Bark:  Coconut butter,  90% Dark chocolate, coconut flakes, and the nuts.  Melt the chocolate and coconut butter together, mix in coconut flake and nuts, pour onto wax paper covered tray.  In the fridge for a couple hours.  Bring it out and break it up!  Delicious!

 

3.  Cheese Crisps:  Microwaved some of our favorite cheeses, slcied thin on a plate.  Peeled it off to cool into crispy cheese crisps.  This is a way bigger pain to do right than pepperoni chips.  Tastey though!

 

4.  Sausage Slices and Egg:  Boiled eggs with salt and cold slices of sausage.  This is something I love and could live on.  2 eggs and some sausage and I am done eating for several hours.  This was just for me.  Plus, the kids told me this was going to smell like a fart in the theater.  DID NOT!!

 

It's interesting how we are satisfied with a LOT LESS snacks when its better for us.  Except the pepperoni chips.  THose are pretty damn addicitive.
